In this sudoku strategy collection we will take a look at another well known technique called naked pairs. This can be a very 
effective method when solving sudoku. The basic idea behind it is to try and spot sets of numbers within a particlular area. 
 

The Naked Pair strategy may be required for the medium difficulty level puzzles. It is a little more advanced method that you can 
use if you find that the other strategies simply don't solve puzzle. 

This method is also at times reffered to as the Disjoint Subset method. Also note that a naked pair can become whats called a Hidden Pair, if there are extra possible values available for those particular cells. 

Naked pairs can often be found hiding as hidden pairs among other possible candidates. If two cells in a group contain the same two numbers or candidates there is a naked pair. You can than eliminate these candidates from all the other cells in that group.

Like all sudoku strategies one alone won't help you complete a puzzle, but effectively applying multiple techniques to your puzzle solving can get you through even the most difficult puzzle.
