To become a better player at sudoku takes not
only practice but the ability to master a few of the
more common sudoku techniques. We are going to
take a look at a few of the more well known ones.
Xwing Technique
The X-wing technique is what's refered to as
an elimination approach that comes when two columns have the
same two remaining cellsfor an individual number.
These two cells must be in the same rows giving the "X" shape
that defines this technique name.
Swordfish Technique
The sudoku swordfish technique is considered
one of the more complicated techniques to learn. It is similar to x wing
, but uses
three rows and columns instead of the two found
in xwing. It is named after a world war two bi-plane called the Fairy Swordfish,
which was in usefrom 1936 to 1945. If you draw a line across the rows and
columns and connect all the different squares involved, they will form
two rectangles that will connect at the corners resembling the wings of
a biplane..
Hidden Subset Technique
The hidden subset technique is much like the
naked subset, but instead of eliminating possible numbers from other cells,
possible candidates are removed from cells that contain the hidden subset
instead.
Naked Single Technique
If every other cell has a number that allready
exsists in that same grid, than we can deduce that no other number
can possbily be entered into it because, every other
number already appears in that grid, Thuis the naked single.
